Istanbul Treasure Hunts are a great way to see the local area. However, sometimes there's more to it. The Treasure Hunt Team recently flew out to exotic Istanbul to arrange a spy themed event. Istanbul, a crossroads between East and West, is full of espionage history.
80 people were divided into 10 teams of 8 to head out into the city based around the fascinating and historic Grand Bazaar. Locals joined in the fun as teams found locations, solved puzzles and liaised with secret agents in the field.
One of our spies was tracked down to a private booth in a Turkish Bath. Visitors had to solve a mystery to get their hands on a sim card containing further instructions.
The treasure hunt combined fun activities with sight seeing and after three hours everyone returned to a cafe in the centre of the Bazaar for Turkish Coffee and time for shopping.
We could not resist the opportunity to test the teams' haggling abilities with a The Apprentice themed challenge, so we included a scavenger list of items connected to the spy them including sunglasses, handcuffs and a pair of binoculars. All had to be bought at below their listed price.
Istanbul is an unforgettable treasure hunt location. You don't have to go for a spy theme, we have traditional Treasure Hunts in the historical Sultanahmet or there's plenty to do around the European Quarter if that's where your hotel is and you don't want to go too far.
