Often treasure hunts are simply for fun and the benefits of a great shared experience and social team bonding. Sometimes, however, an event is needed where a specific objective or outcome is required. Treasure hunts are ideal for this purpose, transferring information in an enjoyable way that maximises learning and recall.
Here are some of the ways that treasure hunts can be used:-
We recently worked with a client who wanted to launch their new three year plan to a group with presentation fatigue. They went to an inspiring venue in The Cotswolds and we ran a treasure hunt in the open air under big skies.
The challenge was substantial, with a lot of walking and deadlines which had to be met. At various locations teams met with company managers where subjects such as vision, strategy and HR were discussed using creative activities, for example painting.
Company managers met the teams at specific way points where they delivered a key presentation without using technology. This made it very memorable and refreshing.
