Blackpool is known for the main promenade and, if you stay into the evening on the two nights each year when they in place, you can witness Blackpool Illuminations. Six electrifying miles of lights featuring more than a million light bulbs. The town also has its own Madame Tussauds, where you can meet the slightly sinister Lou and Andy shown in the picture.

You can also visit the Tower, the North Pier and The Pleasure Beach. You might be unsurprised to hear that Blackpool also has the world's largest mirrored disco ball and it is well worth a look.
